LOUIS F. AND HELENA (IMOEHL) BURBACH

     “Louis F. Burbach, the fifth child of Louis H. and Theresa Arens, was born April 15, 1881. He grew to manhood on a farm southwest of Bow Valley. He married Helena Imoehl of Festina, Iowa on July 6, 1903. She was born May 3, 1884. They set up farming 4 miles south of St. James. Louis helped establish the SS. Philip and James parish. They had six children – Joseph L. (Dorothy Wieseler), Rose (Arthur Sudbeck), Arthur (Gertrude Wieseler), Florenz (Veronica Lammers), Irene (Clarence Suing), Mary (Henry Heine). Louis also helped organize and build the Waucapona parochial school and their children attended that school.

     After Florenz and Arthur married in January 1931 Louis and Helena and their daughters, Irene and Mary, moved to Hartington. Louis died April 15, 1956. Helena died March 4, 1967.”
