Hi Anthony, sometimes getting memorials transferred is difficult. You are dependent on the person currently managing the memorial. I would try again, and point out the Find a Grave policy. They clearly state that they prefer a family member to manage a memorial over a non family member. It clearly states “they must transfer.” You can also point out that by merging your family memorial, it transferred the other one to them and you want it back. Review the above FAQ and hopefully that will work.

If that does not work, I suggest contacting Find A Grave, but that’s never guaranteed either.

Hi Anthony. You can only add parents and spouses. So, if you add the parents to the half sibling, that should do it. Hopefully this helps.

It may very well be that the person who manages the memorial is no longer around. As for why Find-A-Grave itself doesn’t answer, could it be that they just don’t have the staff since all the COVID madness?

Hi June, I have had trouble getting response from them also. I’ve had mixed results using the recommended suggestions. Many have been changed, but others ignored. I’m not sure what else you can do, but will post your comments. Maybe other users will have suggestions.

Robin, you can save all those pretty GIFs to your computer then add them to your “Scrapbook” so you can add them later. You can also go to this website https://giphy.com/gifs/leave-her-to-heaven-A14XXbmQ4ck5q
and save all the ones you want. Hope this helps.

Hi Robin, I found your original post after I replied to Pat.

I’ll paste it here as well:

It’s easy, find the animated gif file you want to use (just do a search on animated gif files you’ll find plenty). Then go to add flowers, click the dropdown and select My Scrapbook. Then click on the add button. select the gif file you want to use, upload it. Then back up to the memorial you want, click on add flowers again go to your scrapbook and select your image. When uploading the file to the scrapbook don’t forget to give it a meaningful name. You can add many and that will help you identify them.

Also the cheaters way of getting the gif file is if you see one you like, right click on it then “Save image as” into your computer then just upload that file into your scrapbook as mentioned above.
