Peter and Anna are both buried at Saint Michael Cemetery, Coleridge, Cedar County, Nebraska.
Petes parents, Mathias and Catherine Dohm, purchased a farm in Section 4 overlapping into section 5, of Auburn Township, Fayette County, Iowa. The 1879 Plat Map shows the location, where they acquired the E 1/2 of the SE 1/4 of section 4 and a bit of section 5.1
Peters mother Kathrina died in 1882 and his father, Mathias, died in 1890. The farm was sold to J. Tillerman.
Peter and Anna are both showing as living in Iowa at the time of their marriage in January 1891 and must have moved to Nebraska by 1892, when their first child was born in Nebraska. They purchased 80 acres in Township 28 N. Range 1 E in Randolph, Cedar County, Nebraska Section 12.2 This is where they would raise their children.
After Peter died in 1926, I was unable to find Anna in the 1930 or 1940 US Federal Census records. She was buried at the same cemetery as Peter in Coleridge, Cedar County, Nebraska.
The following records give us a look into their lives:

Census Records
Census records can be a great resource for genealogy research. It’s important to note however that the information collected may have been provided by any of the household members and sometimes even a neighbor. Especially in the early days, our ancestors had strong accents, so the information was up to the census taker for interpretation. Spelling was often written phonetically and the handwriting sometimes difficult to transcribe.
